The saturated and expressive, pink peony is one of the most inspiring flower for an artist. 
Wild and gentle at the same time, peony has its own unique character.  Ragged petals with a soft shimmering create a giant bud with a thousand shades of colors, from light pink to a deep magenta. I picked a green-blue background color palette complementary the flower. Wide strokes and contrast spots refer to a kind of abstract painting technique. I tried to avoid a simple realistic view and invite some chaotic process and expression. As well, I used a palette knife to make the strokes more certain and solid.
