I'm a great lover of tulips, but my favorite sort is parrot tulip.
An exotic view of its petals reminds a feathering of bright birds. Exquisite and wild at the same time, these flowers have peculiar ragged petals and fantastic color gradients. Kind of red parrot tulips depicted in this painting is called also a Rococo tulip, through its pompous form and flaming red color. To express the wild vividness of flowers I used bold brush strokes. I tried to avoid a detailed realistic painting style in favor of vivid impression as well.
