In this painting I captured a bouquet of yellow narcissus. It is one of a series of impressionistic flower pieces I made during the "stay at home" period. It was a very productive period and I tried my best to improve my technique in a bolder and more freeing manner, close to the expressionistic field. It is a kind of challenge for me as I prefer a thoughtful and gentle approach to painting, but at the same time I feel it is the right way to find deeper and more complex methods of artistic expression.

Despite the obviously serene subject, the mood of the picture cannot be called as such. Using contrasting colors and bold textural strokes, I tried to fill the space of the canvas with vibration, energy, and a particular atmosphere. The refined beauty of the flowers and the transience of flowering are fraught with an ineffable sadness. With a brush, I would like to involve the viewer in admiring their fleeting beauty.
