This extraordinary view was painted last spring in Tuscany. I received a lot of inspiration from Italy and still feel the same way each time I have the pleasure to visit it. We lived in a house with an amazing garden and a panoramic sea view, so I was able to make some (of my) paintings literally within a few steps of the home. That view with a branch of an almond tree and sea view on the background reminded me of Japanese wooden etching, Ukiyoe. So, in my work, I tried to preserve some decorative effect and saturated colors as well. I especially like the olive trees which are visible on the bottom. The wide strip of the sea had an exceptionally bright azure color that became the color center of the painting.
